My daughter is 4 years old. The first 12 months of her life she slept amazing! I was so lucky. Now it is a fight to get her into bed.

Between the ages of 1 and 3.5 she had terrible night terrors almost every night! They were so bad and scary for both me and her. Though when they were over she didn’t really seem to remember what happened, but I sure did!

And now at 4.5 she just has so much on her mind she feels like she is going to miss something! So she tries her hardest to stay awake and boy does she get crabby! We read 2-3 books every night to her but she still wants more and doesn’t seem to fall asleep with us talking..

So we tried some E-books.. She LOVED them. There were so many to choose from (we have over 300 books and always getting more but online was limitless). I personally hate e-books for small children, staring at a screen right before you go to bed definitely doesn’t help the brain relax..

One day I was talking to a long-lost friend. She also has a child a little older than mine and she was bragging about this new blanket her children received. I told her I wasn’t really interested because we had stacks and stacks of blankets we never even use.. but my curiosity got the best in me!

It was a children’s blanket with a built-in book You say what?! It is a twin blanket that has a pocket that holds this oversized cloth book with it & even better yet it has an e-book recording that goes along with the oversized book. They have 2 different blankets so far a pink version with mermaids on it and a blue one with pirates on it. The fun doesn’t end there! they are coming out with more oversized cloth books!

Lillia wanted the mermaid one so we got it with little help that it would help her get to sleep.. But we were surprised! She asks for the blanket almost every night (We put it up so it’s not played with during the day. That way it is like a treat for bedtime). We still read 2-3 books at night and sometimes we even read this one, but on extremely challenging nights we just plug her headphones into my phone or laptop, turn the screens all the way down, and let the e-book lull her to sleep.

Right now the blankets are on sale! You should check them out, I bet you won’t be disappointed!

  1. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
